Paul Ferri

Paul J. Ferri is the Founder and General Partner at Matrix Partners, a venture capital firm based in the Boston area. He began his investment career by co-founding Hellman Ferri Investment Associates alongside Warren Hellman in 1977, later establishing Matrix Capital Management as a hedge fund in 1999. Over his 35-year career, his firm achieved record-setting returns, with the Matrix Partners V Partnership securing the highest rate of return in venture capital history. Ferri holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School. Forbes recognized him as one of the top twenty venture investors of all time, and he entered the Private Equity Hall of Fame in 2003. His investment approach focuses on applying engineering discipline and structured risk assessment to early-stage venture capital.
