Paul Dix

Paul Dix is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of InfluxData, the enterprise software company behind the open-source time series database InfluxDB. Prior to establishing this database platform, he worked as a software engineer developing backend data infrastructure and applications for major organizations, including Microsoft, Google, McAfee, Thomson Reuters, and the Air Force Space Command. Dix also founded the NYC Machine Learning Meetup, expanding the technical community organization to a total membership of over 13,000 active individuals. He earned a computer science degree from Columbia University and subsequently authored the 2010 technical reference book Service-Oriented Design with Ruby and Rails, while also serving as a series editor for Addison-Wesley. His current professional focus centers on advancing time series data analytics, machine learning infrastructure, and overseeing the ongoing architectural evolution of the core InfluxDB software platform.
