Paul Bernard

Paul Bernard is the Director of Worldwide Corporate Development for the Amazon Alexa Fund, leading the technology company's first dedicated corporate venture capital initiative. After working extensively in corporate development and mergers and acquisitions at Amazon, he successfully pitched the concept for the venture fund directly to founder Jeff Bezos in 2015. Under his leadership, the evergreen, balance sheet funded investment vehicle has deployed at least $200 million in capital across more than 100 global startup investments. The active portfolio includes notable consumer technology and smart home brands such as Ring, Ecobee, and Greenlight. In early 2025, he expanded the fund's investment scope beyond traditional voice applications to encompass artificial intelligence hardware, generative media, and smart agents. Bernard currently focuses on backing early stage technology companies that develop emerging artificial intelligence architectures to enhance broader consumer ecosystems.
