Paul Atkinson

Paul Atkinson is a Founding Partner and Chair of the Par Investor Network at Par Equity, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since establishing the venture capital firm in 2008, he has managed a 140-member investor syndicate focused on early-stage technology and forestry investments across the Northern United Kingdom. Before transitioning to venture capital, Atkinson founded several recruitment businesses, including Head Resourcing, which he subsequently scaled into the Taranata Group to achieve a £60 million turnover with over 140 employees. He currently serves as Chair for multiple regional organizations, including the software development agency xDesign, while also holding a Visiting Professorship at the Edinburgh Napier University Business School. Following early corporate technology roles at IBM, his current professional focus centers on funding technology entrepreneurs and expanding private capital markets throughout the Scottish enterprise ecosystem.
