Patrick Murphy

Patrick Murphy is currently a General Partner at Semble Ventures, an early-stage investment firm based in California, United States. Before transitioning to venture capital, he worked as a mechanical engineer developing robotics, medical implants, and renewable energy systems, having previously built computers and run a web development agency in Ireland. As an investment banker, Murphy gained extensive experience raising capital and executing mergers and acquisitions across the broader technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. In 2018, he partnered with David Kelly to co-found Amaranthine, an investment fund that was initially backed by the global technology conference Web Summit. Murphy and Kelly subsequently launched Semble as an independent venture vehicle in May 2021, separating their investment activities from the conference's parent company. His current investment focus centers on financing early-stage technology companies operating across the United States and the European Union.
