Patrick Kerssemakers

Patrick Kerssemakers is a Managing Partner at Dutch Founders Fund, also known as DFF Ventures, based in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands. Before transitioning to venture capital alongside notable European founders like Bas Beerens of WeTransfer and Laurens Groenendijk of Just Eat, he cofounded the ecommerce platform fonQ and served as chairman of the LOEY foundation to stimulate online entrepreneurship. At DFF Ventures, he backs early stage startups across the broader EMEA region, drawing from a portfolio of 45 investments with average initial checks of $1.5 million scaling up to a maximum of $12.5 million. Following a September 2025 rebranding, the firm launched its €50 million Fund III to target emerging European companies with an active limited partner strategy. Kerssemakers currently focuses his investment thesis on B2B SaaS, marketplaces, network effects driven propositions, vertical artificial intelligence, and recommerce platforms.
