Patrick J. Ennis

Patrick J. Ennis is a Venture Partner at Madrona Venture Group and an Independent Director at Wipro Ltd. Over a 30-year career in technology commercialization, he previously spent a decade as a Managing Director at ARCH Venture Partners and over ten years leading startup incubation and seed investing at Intellectual Ventures. Earlier in his career, Ennis held software engineering and product management roles at AT&T and Bell Labs, and he earned a PhD in physics from Yale University alongside an MBA from Wharton. He has served on the boards of more than 18 different venture-backed companies, holding founding board positions and backing notable startups including Impinj and Evolv Technology. Drawing on his background as a scientist and inventor, Ennis currently focuses on early-stage investments and company building across the semiconductor, materials science, and computing sectors.
