Patri Friedman is the Founder and General Partner at Pronomos Capital, an investment firm based in the United States. He previously spent ten years as a software engineer at Google and holds a Master of Science degree in computer science from Stanford University. In 2008, Friedman established The Seasteading Institute with backing from Peter Thiel to research and develop experimental sovereign communities. Transitioning to venture capital, he managed the angel fund ZIG starting in 2011, securing early personal stakes in companies like Palantir and Matterport before their respective public offerings. Since launching Pronomos Capital in 2019, he directs pre-seed and seed investments ranging from $250,000 to $1.5 million into GovTech, real estate, and infrastructure technology startups. His current focus centers on financing charter cities and innovative governance models to address global urban development challenges.
