Pascal Koenig

Pascal Koenig is the Managing Partner of 1717 VC, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Berlin, Germany. Before transitioning to venture capital, he founded the fintech advisory firm Monach Advisors and worked as a consultant at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. He holds a Licentiate degree from the University of St. Gallen and completed an MBA exchange at Columbia Business School. At 1717 VC, Koenig oversees more than €100 million in assets under management, recently raising a second fund exceeding €50 million in 2024 to back European startups. As an institutional and angel investor with over 50 personal deals, his portfolio includes more than 20 firm-backed companies such as Gnosis and Aleph Alpha. His current investment focus centers on pre-seed and seed-stage ventures operating across the artificial intelligence, climate technology, and financial technology sectors.
