Paolo Pirjanian

Paolo Pirjanian is a Venture Partner at Calibrate Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on artificial intelligence and robotics investments. Prior to this role, he served as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Embodied Inc., which raised a $22 million Series A, and Evolution Robotics, which was acquired by iRobot for approximately $74 million in 2012. Following the acquisition, Pirjanian operated as the Chief Technology Officer of iRobot until October 2015, contributing to the commercialization of over 20 million consumer robots globally, including the Roomba and Sony Aibo. His academic and research background includes earning a doctorate in robotics from Aalborg University, teaching artificial intelligence at the University of Southern California, and conducting early research at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Pirjanian's career centers on the development and commercialization of autonomous systems, consumer robotics, and human-machine interaction technologies.
