Oleg Ilichev

Oleg Ilichev is currently the Managing Partner at Altai Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In this executive role, he oversees a growing portfolio of more than 20 companies and directs investments across the seed and pre-seed stages within the regional fintech, edtech, healthtech, and software-as-a-service sectors. Under his direct leadership, the firm successfully launched a $10 million fund in 2024 dedicated to supporting technology startups operating throughout Central Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Ilichev actively participates in regional ecosystem development through strategic engagements with institutions such as Astana Hub and Kazakh Invest, and he recently presented industry insights at the TechGarden Almaty conference in March 2025. His current professional focus remains on capitalizing early-stage technology enterprises and bridging innovation between emerging post-Soviet markets and the broader global economy.
