Oded Barel-Sabag

Oded Barel-Sabag is a Founding Partner at fresh.fund, a pre-seed venture capital firm focused on the Israeli technology ecosystem. Established in 2016 alongside Managing Partner Zaki Djemal, the firm currently operates as one of Israel's largest and most active pre-seed investors, originating as the country's first university-focused venture fund. Prior to his current investment role, Barel-Sabag was associated with the Internet & Society Venture Lab at Hebrew University, where he developed his foundational expertise in academic and student-led entrepreneurship. In his dual capacity on the investment and business development team, he actively supports portfolio companies and co-authors the Fresh Spot newsletter to analyze emerging startup trends. His current focus remains on identifying and backing early-stage founders across the Israeli tech ecosystem while bridging the gap between university research and commercial venture creation.
