Nurzhas Makishev

Nurzhas Makishev is the founder and venture partner at NKM Capital, an early-stage venture firm based in San Francisco, California. Before establishing his own fund, he held product strategy, engineering, and investment roles at major technology and financial institutions, including Google, Oracle, JPMorgan, and Venrock. He holds two bachelor's degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MPA from Harvard University, and an MBA from Wharton, while currently serving as an advisor at the Harvard Innovation Lab. Since beginning his angel investing career in 2012, Makishev has backed over 50 early-stage startups, securing positions in prominent companies such as Robinhood, Ripple, and Truebill, which was later acquired for approximately $1.3 billion. His current investment strategy at NKM Capital focuses primarily on artificial intelligence and early-stage technology ventures led by founders with deep domain expertise.
