Nisal Ranasinghe

Nisal Ranasinghe is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Phonely, an artificial intelligence communication startup based in San Francisco, California. Established in 2023, the company develops AI-driven voice agents for customer service automation and recently participated in the Y Combinator S24 accelerator batch. Under his technical leadership, Phonely has grown to approximately 10 employees, achieved 22 percent week-over-week growth, and secured $500,000 in seed funding led by 7BC Venture Capital. Prior to this venture, Ranasinghe spent nearly three years as a senior engineer leading advanced AI projects at a major telecommunications firm and worked in data science at Axiata Digital Labs. He previously pursued a doctorate degree focusing on explainable artificial intelligence at the University of Melbourne. His current professional focus centers on engineering scalable voice AI solutions to automate enterprise customer interactions.
