Nikita Shamgunov

Nikita Shamgunov is currently a Partner at KV and the Chairman of SingleStore, focusing on global venture capital investments in data infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and developer tools. Before transitioning to venture capital, he founded SingleStore, a Y Combinator-backed data platform company, initially serving as its Chief Technology Officer before becoming Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure as CEO, Shamgunov scaled the enterprise software startup's annual recurring revenue from approximately $9 million to roughly $40 million. His earlier engineering career includes technical roles at major technology corporations, working as a Senior Engineer on the core infrastructure team at Facebook and as an Engineer on the SQL Server team at Microsoft. Today, his professional focus centers on building high-growth enterprise software and investing across broad stages in cloud infrastructure, relational databases, and emerging blockchain technologies.
