Nicolas Colin is a General Partner and co-founder at The Family, a venture capital firm and startup accelerator based in Paris, France. Under his leadership, the firm manages over €50 million in assets and has invested in more than 100 early-stage technology companies, including the ride-sharing platform BlaBlaCar. In 2024, the firm expanded its investment scope by raising a €30 million fund dedicated to European climate tech startups. Previously, Colin co-founded the digital strategy consultancy 1984.co and served as a policy advisor to former French Minister of Digital Affairs Fleur Pellerin between 2012 and 2014. The École Polytechnique graduate also authored the platform economics book "L'Âge de la multitude," which has sold over 20,000 copies. His current focus centers on advancing Europe's digital economy through early-stage investments in software, artificial intelligence, and climate technology.
