Nick Rubin is currently a generalist early-stage investor at First Round Capital. He graduated from Stanford University in 2021 with a degree in Symbolic Systems, where he spent three years organizing the TreeHacks hackathon. Prior to venture capital, Rubin founded Sendo, a Y Combinator-backed SMS developer platform designed for artificial intelligence companies. His earlier software development experience includes engineering internships at Hipcamp and Harvard's Berkman Klein Center, as well as building Winno, a consumer news application recognized as Apple's App of the Day. Having started coding at age 13, he has also developed an Ethereum prediction market, automated streetwear purchasing bots, and a viral Chrome browser extension tracking political donations. Today, Rubin leverages his extensive technical background as a lifelong software builder to evaluate and support early-stage artificial intelligence, developer platform, and consumer application startups.
