Nick Markola

Nick Markola is a General Partner and Research & Macroeconomic Expert at Type One Ventures and the Managing Partner of the Markola Group, based in New York City. Before transitioning to venture capital, he held senior banking roles, including Managing Director and Head of Research at Fieldpoint Private Bank, Senior Vice President at Citigroup, and Vice President at Banc of America Securities. His academic credentials include an MS in Financial Engineering and an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern, alongside a CIMA designation from the Wharton School. He previously founded and successfully exited a real estate investment company and currently directs his family office's global investment portfolio. Markola focuses his current efforts on macroeconomic research and early-stage venture investments spanning pre-seed to Series B rounds within the artificial intelligence, deeptech, robotics, biotechnology, and space sectors.
