Nic Carter

Nic Carter is a Founding Partner and General Partner at Castle Island Ventures, a specialized venture capital firm focused on public blockchain startups. He began his career researching digital assets in 2013 and subsequently joined Fidelity Investments in 2016, where he served as the institution's first dedicated cryptoasset analyst. In 2017, Carter co-founded Coin Metrics, a prominent blockchain analytics and financial market infrastructure provider, before launching his current venture fund in 2018. Prior to his investing career, he earned a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of St Andrews. Through his venture investments and extensive research publications, Carter maintains a primary focus on cryptocurrency market infrastructure, Bitcoin's global financial impact, and the emerging intersection of artificial intelligence with decentralized networks.
