Neil Murray

Neil Murray is the Solo General Partner and Founding Partner of The Nordic Web Ventures, an angel fund based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Previously, he served as the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Playmaker, a fantasy sports and gamification technology startup that participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2021 cohort. Alongside co-founder Helder Almeida, Murray scaled the live sports technology company to a team of five employees before eventually exiting the business. Following his departure, he publicly discussed his experiences with Y Combinator and startup exits during a 2023 appearance on the Perfect F*ckups podcast. Through The Nordic Web Ventures, he now directs early-stage capital toward emerging technology companies, utilizing backing from prominent European entrepreneurs. His professional background centers on building consumer-facing sports applications and executing early-stage venture capital investments across the Nordic startup ecosystem.
