Nechemia (Chemi) Peres is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Pitango Venture Capital, currently based in Herzliya, Israel. Since co-founding the firm alongside Rami Kalish in 1996, he has helped scale Pitango into one of the largest venture funds in the region. He currently oversees more than $2.3 billion in committed capital distributed across approximately 230 global portfolio companies. Prior to launching Pitango, Peres established the Mofet Israel Technology Fund in 1992 and earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Tel-Aviv University. He holds extensive corporate governance experience, serving on the board of directors for prominent public entities like Teva Pharmaceuticals, Via Transportation, and Taboola. His current investment focus centers on funding early-stage and growth-stage technology startups operating within the global cybersecurity, financial technology, mobility, and healthtech sectors.
