Neal Sáles-Griffin

Neal Sáles-Griffin is a Venture Partner at MATH Venture Partners and Managing Director at Techstars Chicago, based in Chicago, Illinois. He joined MATH Venture Partners in 2020 to source and evaluate investments for the firm's MATH100 portfolio, which supports over 200 technology companies. Previously, he co-founded Starter League, an early beginner-focused coding bootcamp that he sold in 2016, and served as CEO of the Y Combinator-backed nonprofit CodeNow. In addition to his investment roles, he is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University, where he previously served as student body president, and a faculty coach at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also notably ran for mayor of Chicago during the 2019 election cycle. His current focus centers on early-stage technology startups, customer acquisition in software, and driving job creation through civic innovation.
