Neal Katyal is a Partner in the Litigation and Arbitration Group at Milbank LLP, currently based in Washington, DC. He previously served as the Acting Solicitor General of the United States from 2010 to 2011 and earned a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School alongside a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College. Throughout his extensive legal career, Katyal has argued 54 cases before the Supreme Court of the United States, including five cases during the 2022 to 2023 term that represented nearly 10 percent of the court's entire docket. He recently secured a notable 6-3 Supreme Court victory in the landmark 2026 case Learning Resources v. Trump, which successfully struck down presidential tariffs. His current legal practice focuses heavily on appellate and complex litigation across antitrust, constitutional, corporate, patent, copyright, securities, and technology law.
