Nathan Owen

Nathan Owen is a General Partner at Grand Ventures based in Schaumburg, Illinois. Before transitioning to venture capital in 2021, he spent 12 years as the co-founder and CEO of Blue Medora, scaling the enterprise software company to $15 million in annual revenue before selling its primary business unit to VMware in 2020. He subsequently served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Revenue Officer at HYCU, where he drove 450% year-over-year sales growth and facilitated the backup software company's sale to Bain Capital. Earlier in his career, Owen spent four years as a Business Development Executive at IBM and earned a Bachelor of Science from Central Michigan University. Across his 20-year operational career, he has raised over $120 million in venture funding and currently focuses on early-stage investments in developer tools and enterprise technology.
