Nate Loewentheil

Nate Loewentheil is the Founder and Managing Partner of Commonweal Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York, New York. The firm typically invests between $500,000 and $2 million in pre-seed and seed-stage startups operating across the clean energy, financial services, real estate, and healthcare sectors. Previously, he served as a Special Assistant to President Barack Obama at the National Economic Council, where he advised the administration on emerging technology policy and federal infrastructure programs. An alumnus of Yale University with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor, he also serves as an adjunct professor at the institution and previously backed prominent technology companies including Palantir and Robinhood. Loewentheil currently focuses on funding technology startups that utilize government policy, spending, and regulatory frameworks as strategic drivers for commercial growth.
