Nate Doran

Nate Doran is the Business Director at SWAN Venture Fund, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Seattle, Washington. Working alongside Managing Member Peter Weiss, Doran manages daily operations and has directed fund formation since the launch of the firm's inaugural vehicle in 2015. Under his operational leadership, the firm has expanded its limited partner base from 24 to 70 investors across multiple funds formed approximately every three years. He oversees capital deployments ranging from $200,000 to $1.2 million, frequently leading pre-seed and seed rounds for Pacific Northwest startups specializing in artificial intelligence, data science, and developer tools. Prior to entering the venture capital sector in 2011, he spent over a decade working in social research and data engineering. Today, his primary focus remains on structuring early-stage startup finance and scaling venture operations across the regional technology ecosystem.
