Narek Galstyan is a software engineer currently developing an independent, comprehensive database designed specifically for modern artificial intelligence applications. He previously worked as an early software engineer at TimescaleDB starting in the summer of 2018, where he contributed core features to the open-source time-series database built on PostgreSQL. During the summer of 2019, Galstyan optimized Firecracker kernel images, successfully achieving a 1.5x faster virtual machine boot time. He graduated from Princeton University in 2020 with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering, completing his thesis on a safe operating system scheduler written in Rust under the advisement of Professor Amit Levy. Following his undergraduate studies, he recently pursued a PhD in distributed systems at UC Berkeley. Galstyan's technical background remains heavily focused on the intersection of distributed systems, operating systems, and advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure.
