Nandan Nilekani is the Co-founder and Chairman of Infosys, Chairman of the EkStep Foundation, and General Partner at Fundamentum, based in Bengaluru, India. After earning a degree from IIT Bombay in 1978, he co-founded Infosys in 1981, eventually serving as CEO from 2002 to 2006 and helping grow the IT services firm to an $80 billion market capitalization. Between 2009 and 2014, he served as the Chairman of UIDAI, where he architected Aadhaar, India's biometric identification system that has enrolled over 1.3 billion users. Through his venture capital firm Fundamentum, which manages over $300 million in assets and raised a $180 million second fund in 2024, he invests in early-stage consumer internet and fintech startups. Nilekani currently focuses on advancing digital public infrastructure, scaling education technology, and funding emerging technology enterprises across the Indian market.
