Murray McCaig is the Founder and Managing Partner of ArcTern Ventures, a global venture capital firm based in Toronto, Canada. Through the firm's third flagship vehicle, Fund III, he is currently deploying $350 million into early-stage climatetech companies across North America and Europe. Operating out of offices in Toronto, San Francisco, and Oslo, McCaig targets emerging technologies in energy, mobility, food systems, and industrial decarbonization. Before transitioning to venture capital in 2012, he operated as a serial entrepreneur who founded and scaled three distinct startups within the telecommunications and climate technology sectors. Earlier in his career, he competed as a professional athlete and represented the Canadian Olympic Team at the 1992 Olympic Games. Today, his primary focus is leveraging his prior entrepreneurial experience to finance companies developing sustainability solutions that address global climate change.
