Montserrat Vendrell

Montserrat Vendrell is a Founding Partner at Aliath Bioventures and a Partner at Alta Life Sciences, based in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to transitioning into venture capital in 2016, she spent 20 years building Catalonia's life sciences ecosystem, serving as the founding chief executive officer of the Barcelona Science Park, Biocat, and the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology. She currently holds active board director positions at several early-stage biotechnology companies, including Peptomyc, Accure Therapeutics, and Inbrain Neuroelectronics. Vendrell also chairs the Executive Committee of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the Board of Trustees at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, drawing on over 10 years of prior biomedical research experience at institutions such as Roche. Her current professional focus centers on executing early-stage life sciences venture capital investments and scaling regional biotechnology ventures into broader international markets.
