Mohan S. Iyer

Mohan S. Iyer is a General Partner at SOSV focused on the IndieBio startup acceleration program in San Francisco, California. He brings over 25 years of operational and executive experience in the life sciences sector, having started his career as a biochemical engineer at Genentech. Prior to joining SOSV in 2021, Iyer held multiple C-level positions at biotechnology startups, serving as Chief Operating Officer at Pendulum Therapeutics, Chief Business Officer at Second Genome, and Chief Financial Officer at Tethys Bioscience. His academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. Iyer currently focuses on investing in early-stage biotechnology innovators, leveraging his extensive background in strategy, fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions to help life sciences startups scale and achieve successful exits.
