Miroslav Gasparek

Miroslav Gasparek is the CEO and Co-Founder of Sensible Biotechnologies, a biotechnology company based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Founded in August 2021, the Y Combinator-backed startup has raised millions of pounds in funding to develop a living cell-based platform for scalable mRNA production. Under his leadership, the firm has established strategic partnerships with Ginkgo Bioworks and NVIDIA to advance next-generation mRNA therapeutics. Gasparek holds a bioengineering degree from Imperial College London, where he received the 2024 Emerging Alumni Leader Award, and is pursuing a DPhil in synthetic biology at the University of Oxford. Prior to his current venture, he conducted research at Stanford University and Caltech, and advised the Slovak Ministry of Health on biosecurity. His current focus centers on leveraging computational modeling and synthetic biology to build cost-effective biomanufacturing infrastructure for the broader European biotechnology ecosystem.
