Mina Shahid

Mina Shahid is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Numida, a digital lending platform serving micro and small enterprises, based in Kampala, Uganda. The Egyptian-Canadian entrepreneur is a two-time founder who previously established an initial lending venture in Ghana alongside the current Chief Technology Officer of Numida. Although that first startup ceased operations, the experience provided Shahid with critical insights into the challenges of deploying financial services within emerging markets. Throughout his career, he has built extensive regional expertise by living and working across diverse international jurisdictions, including Uganda, Ghana, Zambia, and Colombia. Today, Shahid directs Numida's operations to provide unsecured working capital to African businesses that are traditionally excluded from formal commercial banking systems. His ongoing professional focus centers on leveraging digital financial technology to drive economic prosperity and scale small business growth across the continent.
