Mikkel Hesselgren

Mikkel Hesselgren is a Vice President at Vækstfonden based in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he focuses on growth capital investments and portfolio management. Promoted to this leadership role in 2023, he actively manages a portfolio of over 20 companies for the state-backed fund, an institution that oversees more than €1 billion in total assets under management. Demonstrating his sector focus, he recently led a €10 million venture investment in the climate tech startup Monta during the first quarter of 2025. Before initially joining Vækstfonden as an investment manager in 2018, Hesselgren held financial and advisory positions at Danske Bank and Deloitte, and he earned a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. His current professional focus centers on scaling early-stage Nordic ventures across the software, financial technology, and deep tech sectors.
