Mike Zimmerman

Mike Zimmerman is a Partner at Main Sequence Ventures based in Sydney, Australia. He co-founded the deep tech venture capital firm in 2017 to commercialize research from the Australian national science agency, CSIRO, and currently helps manage over $1 billion AUD in assets across three active funds. Prior to his investing career, Zimmerman spent over 25 years as a technology operator and executive, notably founding BuildingIQ, an artificial intelligence energy management company that he successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. His early career included strategy and operations consulting at McKinsey, where he later served as a Portfolio Manager for the McKinsey Launch initiative. Today, his primary focus is on pre-seed and seed investments in industrial productivity, agriculture, and artificial intelligence, holding board director roles at portfolio companies including Kasada, Loam Bio, and Regrow Ag.
