Mike Zappert

Mike Zappert is a General Partner at SignalFire based in San Francisco, California. In March 2025, he co-led the firm's $1 billion fundraise dedicated to enterprise artificial intelligence and machine learning investments. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as Vice President of Engineering at Matterport and held engineering leadership roles at TellApart, which was acquired by Twitter, and Slide, which was acquired by Google. He holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he recently published insights on AI scaling laws. Zappert also holds personal angel investments in unicorn exits like Cruise and Nuro, and he joined the board of Vecna Robotics following its $100 million Series C round. His current focus centers on sourcing and supporting early-stage B2B technology startups developing scalable systems and developer tools.
