Mike Ross is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Beanstalk, a vertical farming startup based in Northern Virginia. Before launching the agricultural technology company with his brother Jack, Ross worked as a consultant advising Fortune 100 companies and federal agencies on enterprise software architecture, e-commerce platforms, and artificial intelligence recommendation systems. He holds a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he specifically focused his academic studies on advanced rotorcraft propulsion. Backed by Y Combinator, Beanstalk utilizes proprietary robotics and hydroponic technology to cultivate fresh produce, expanding its operations in 2023 by opening a new indoor facility within a former data center located in Herndon. Ross currently focuses his efforts on scaling sustainable agriculture through the integration of industrial robotics and plant science to optimize local food production networks.
