Mike McCauley is a Partner at Garage Capital and an early-stage investor based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He previously served as the co-founder of BufferBox, a hardware and logistics startup that participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2012 cohort before being subsequently acquired by Google. Following this acquisition, he transitioned into venture capital by establishing Garage Capital, where he invests alongside the co-founders of Vidyard to fund early-stage technology startups operating across North America. His active investment portfolio includes backing more than forty distinct companies that have graduated from the Y Combinator accelerator program. McCauley completed his undergraduate engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, where he initially developed his technical and analytical background. He currently focuses on utilizing his direct operational experience as a serial entrepreneur to identify, fund, and support emerging technology founders.
