Mike McAra

Mike McAra is the Director of Canada for Second Century Ventures, the global venture capital arm of the National Association of Realtors®, based in Calgary, Alberta. In this capacity, he directs strategic venture capital investments across the broader real estate technology sector. His portfolio targeting includes specific industry verticals such as financial technology, insurance technology, sustainability, retrofit finance, and leasing automation. McAra recently managed the selection process for the firm's regional accelerator programs, identifying four emerging technology companies for the upcoming 2026 REACH Canada cohort. Furthermore, in October 2025, he announced the eight high-growth startups chosen for the REACH UK scale-up initiative, which operates alongside industry partners including Propertymark and TDS Group. McAra currently maintains a primary focus on scaling early-stage property technology ventures that optimize real estate transactions and improve building efficiency across international markets.
