Mike Carusi

Mike Carusi is a General Partner and Team Leader at Lightstone Ventures and a General Partner at Advanced Technology Ventures, based in Menlo Park, California. Before entering venture capital, he served as Director of Business Development at Inhale Therapeutic Systems and earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. At Lightstone, his investment team evaluates approximately 1,000 business plans annually to fund four to five early-stage healthcare companies. His portfolio includes several notable exits, such as Ardian's acquisition by Medtronic, MicroVention's sale to Terumo, and Plexxikon's acquisition by Daiichi Sankyo for approximately $1 billion in 2011. He previously worked as a Principal at The Wilkerson Group, where he helped establish the firm's corporate offices in London and San Francisco. Carusi currently focuses on backing disruptive technologies within the biopharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
