Mike Bates

Mike Bates is the Global General Manager of Energy at Intel Corporation, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this executive capacity, he directs a worldwide organization responsible for developing and deploying edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence solutions across the global energy sector. Over a career spanning more than two decades in the technology industry, Bates has held multiple strategic leadership positions within Intel, driving digital transformation initiatives and hardware integrations for Fortune 500 utility, renewable, and oil and gas enterprises. He earned an MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and a BS from California State University, East Bay. His current focus centers on leveraging advanced semiconductor technologies and software architectures to accelerate grid modernization, optimize distributed energy resources, and support sustainable energy transitions globally.
