Mike Arpaia

Mike Arpaia is a Managing Partner at Moonfire Ventures in the United Kingdom, where he defines the firm's technology strategy and directly advises portfolio founders on hiring and technical architecture. Before joining the venture capital firm in June 2020, he served as a Machine Learning Research Engineer at the deep learning laboratory Mila from March 2019 to November 2020. Previously, Arpaia was the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of the infrastructure analytics company Kolide, leading technical development between 2016 and 2019. His earlier professional career includes software engineering and machine learning roles at major technology companies, including Facebook and the enterprise software firm Workday prior to 2016. Today, his current focus centers on leveraging his extensive background in distributed systems, open-source software, and quantitative finance to support early-stage data infrastructure and machine learning startups.
