Mikael Ørum is the Founder and Partner at Ventac Partners, an international life sciences advisory and company-building firm. Over a 40-year career in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, he has spent 25 years serving as chief executive officer for various therapeutic and diagnostic ventures. He has raised over $300 million in equity and soft funding while orchestrating multiple initial public offerings and leading companies like Exiqon and Santaris Pharma. His executive leadership has contributed to significant industry acquisitions, including the sale of Exiqon to Qiagen and Santaris Pharma to Hoffmann-La Roche. Additionally, he has operated as an international expert for Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey, and held advisory board positions at Virginia Tech and the Danish Technical University.
