Mihailo Bjelic is a blockchain entrepreneur and the cofounder of Polygon, though he recently stepped down from his day-to-day role and board position at Polygon Labs. After beginning his career at an automotive industry startup and transitioning to the Web3 sector in 2017, he cofounded Polygon, originally known as Matic Network, in 2019 alongside Sandeep Nailwal, Jaynti Kanani, and Anurag Arjun. Under his leadership, the Ethereum scaling platform expanded its workforce from 30 to 450 employees in under two years while securing $5 billion in total assets. The network eventually hosted over 37,000 decentralized applications, processed 1.94 billion network transactions, and raised $450 million in a February 2022 funding round led by Sequoia Capital India, Tiger Global, and SoftBank. Bjelic's professional background centers on developing alternative monetary systems and advancing blockchain infrastructure through scalable Web3 solutions.
