Michiel van Deursen

Michiel van Deursen is the Founder and Managing Partner of Capital V, and serves as the Chairman of both the Capital V Foundation and Kale United. He began his professional career as an early internet entrepreneur, founding the online classifieds platform 2dehands.be, which resulted in a successful corporate exit in 2013. Additionally, he established the agency TTY Internet Solutions and operated a technology accelerator across Belgium and the Netherlands. Transitioning to venture capital, van Deursen became an early investor in The Vegetarian Butcher and currently serves as an expert jury member for the European Commission's European Innovation Council. He has also participated in multiple successful corporate exits within the alternative protein and food technology sectors. His current investment strategy focuses exclusively on backing early-stage ventures developing sustainable, plant-based, and cellular agriculture alternatives to eliminate animal products.
