Michelle Scarborough is the former Managing Partner of the Thrive Venture Fund and Women in Technology Venture Fund at BDC Capital in Canada. During her nearly eight-year tenure, she oversaw the $170 million Women in Technology fund, which deployed capital across 39 startups and achieved notable exits with companies like Unsplash. In 2022, she launched the $500 million Thrive Venture Fund, directing early-stage and growth-stage investments into women-led technology businesses such as Waabi and Bridgit. Before joining BDC Capital in 2017, Scarborough managed fund of funds and direct investment activity across Western Canada for Kensington Capital Partners. Scarborough is a class of 2026 Kauffman Fellow and past Chair of the National Angel Capital Organization, with a background that encompasses managing family office investments, founding multiple technology companies, and advancing diversity initiatives within the venture capital ecosystem.
