Michelle Gouveia

Michelle Gouveia is a Vice President at Sandbox Industries within its Sandbox Insurtech Ventures group, based in Austin, Texas. Before joining the venture capital firm, she spent four years at Travelers and another four years at Hartford Steam Boiler, a specialty commercial insurer now operating as a subsidiary of Munich Re. During her tenure in Hartford, Connecticut, she directed corporate technology and innovation initiatives, specifically overseeing proof-of-concept projects and establishing strategic vendor partnerships for both insurance carriers. In her current investment capacity, she evaluates early-stage venture funding opportunities across the insurance technology sector while additionally serving as the co-host of the Unstructured Unlocked podcast. Gouveia leverages her eight years of direct corporate insurance experience to identify and support emerging technology startups addressing core operational challenges within the broader insurtech, healthcare, and food and agriculture market sectors.
