Michael Rosenblatt

Dr. Michael Rosenblatt is a Senior Partner and Senior Advisor at Flagship Pioneering in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Before joining the venture firm in 2016, he served as Executive Vice President and the first Chief Medical Officer at Merck from 2009 to 2016, where he co-led the development of the drug alendronate. His academic leadership includes tenures as Dean of Tufts University School of Medicine and a professorship at Harvard Medical School. Holding 19 patents and authoring over 180 peer-reviewed papers, he was a founding scientist for ProScript and advised Moderna on its COVID-19 vaccine development. He currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Sana Biotechnology and Azenta Life Sciences. Rosenblatt focuses on advancing biotechnology companies from conception through clinical stages, leveraging his extensive expertise in clinical development and medical affairs.
