Michael Kieran

Michael Kieran is a Partner at Operator Collective based in San Francisco, California, where he invests in and advises seed to Series A technology startups. Before transitioning to the venture capital sector, he served as Head of Talent at Brex and held various product and operations leadership roles at Uber. Through his current firm, Kieran has backed more than 20 early-stage companies, recently co-leading the seed funding round for artificial intelligence logistics startup FreightAI in March 2025. The Stanford University graduate, who holds a bachelor's degree in Management Science and Engineering, also spearheaded the expansion of his firm's Diversity Fund in January 2025 and spoke at TechCrunch Disrupt 2024. His current investment focus centers on enterprise software, financial technology, and logistics ventures, with a specific emphasis on scaling operations for underrepresented founders and operator-led teams.
