Michael Jobst

Michael Jobst is currently a Principal at Vsquared Ventures, where he focuses on sourcing and executing early-stage deep technology investments. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as a Principal at Boston Consulting Group, advising large corporate clients on product strategy, production network optimization, and organizational design. His technical expertise stems from his doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, where he developed specialized lasers for ultrashort deep ultraviolet pulses. Additionally, Jobst gained applied engineering experience working on metrology for lithography optics at Carl Zeiss SMT. He remains actively involved in the scientific community, recently participating as an investor and speaker at the 2025 Optica Global Photonics Economic Forum. Jobst leverages his combined background in quantum optics and management consulting to identify, evaluate, and scale emerging photonics and deep tech enterprises.
